The Yamhill Soil & Water Conservation District will hold its 24th annual native plant sale of bare root and container plants Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 5-7. Pre-ordering is recommended. 26th annual Mayor’s Charity Ball
Saturday, February 7
The 26th annual Mayor’s Charity Ball, a fundraiser for the Kids on the Block, will be held from 8 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, in the McMinnville Community Center, 600 N.E. Evans St. The Stars of the Show evening includes music and dancing, hearty appetizers, no-host bar and opportunities to support the after-school program. Tickets cost $40. SHERIDAN – Perrydale girls basketball coach Terry Newton had words of caution for his team before Thursday night’s game against Sheridan: “You’re going to have rust.”
The game against the Class 3A Spartans at the Spartan Dome marked the second of the season for the Class 2A Pirates, and first since a Dec. 3 victory over Willamina. Indeed, Perrydale committed 14 turnovers and had little offensive flow against Sheridan.
“We wanted to eat our cake or dinner instead of waiting for it,” Newton said. “We just didn’t play together because we got greedy.”
